JBL 5.0 Multibeam Review

Are you looking for an affordable, stylish choice soundbar for your home entertainment setup which provides great sound, is easy to use and set up, and is designed to work with all of the latest technology. Look no further!

Firstly, I’d like to thank JBL for sending me their Bar 5.0 Multibeam for review. All opinions are my own. I have been testing out the Bar 5.0 Multibeam for a while and have come up with five key features to review this product: Setup, build quality, features, sound and my final thoughts.

JBL 5.0 Multibeam

Setup – JBL has made the setting up of the Bar 5.0 simple and user friendly as possible. It arrives in great packaging, comes with easy-to-read instructions and template for optional wall mounting. JBL have also included, 1x HDMI cable, batteries for the remote control, brackets and fixing for wall mounting.

Build quality – In short, it looks and feels like a premium device with its solid and weighty construction which suggest a serious piece of kit.

Features – There are plenty of features packed into this piece of kit but the most impressive has to be the Virtual Dolby Atmos which you’re unlikely to find in any other soundbar for the same price. There are two HDMI ports, one input which would replace the eARC HDMI port on the back of your TV which the soundbar needs to connect to giving you the same amount of HDMI ports as you had before. The 5.0 Multibeam also accommodates 4K pass-through with Dolby Vision, meaning you can pair the JBL’s sound with the best picture quality currently available. It works with Alexa and Hey Google but Bluetooth and Chromecast are other features built into the 5.0 Multibeam meaning you can also connect your phone or other Bluetooth device. Spotify sounds fantastic through the 5.0 Multibeam.

Sound – The Bar 5.0 Multibeam aims to provide an immersive listening experience by imitating surround sound without any additional speakers, which it does very well! The sound has everything from a low sub to a crispy clean high end. The volume range peeks at 30, and even though it’s very loud, the speaker does not introduce any distortion upon tests.

Final thoughts – Overall, I’m very impressed with the Bar 5.0 Multibeam. I couldn’t find one thing I didn’t like about it whilst testing. If you are looking for a stylish choice soundbar at a reasonable price for your home entertainment I would highly recommend the JBL 5.0 Multibeam.
